Allentown Metal Works has confirmed that the plant will stay open to at least January of 2011 in order to honor client contracts. However, at least 40 workers are expected to be laid off before the plant closing. An injured worker who is on work-related restrictions at the time of layoff is generally entitled to a reinstatement of workers’ compensation benefits.
