How Can Our Harrisburg Workers’ Comp Lawyers Help You?

It can be difficult to get fair benefits for workplace injuries if you try to file a claim on your own. However, an experienced workers’ compensation attorney can handle all the important details of your claim, so you can focus on recovering from your injuries.

Some of the ways our Harrisburg attorneys can help you include:

  • Filing your initial claim. Your initial claim can have a significant impact on whether you’ll be able to get full benefits. This is the primary source that insurance will use to decide whether deny your claim, determine your disability rating, and choose how much they should compensate you.

If your claim lacks sufficient evidence to prove that a workplace accident caused your injuries and show the severity of your injuries, then insurance might not give you the money you deserve. However, our experienced workers’ comp lawyers can use our knowledge of Pennsylvania workers’ comp laws and experience with past cases to help ensure your claim is as strong as possible.

For example, our attorneys have the skills and resources to gather evidence to support your claim. We can help gather medical documents and recommend medical experts who can evaluate your injuries and testify on your behalf. Your lawyer can also work with other experts, such as vocational specialists who can testify to the skills required to perform your job and how your injuries might impact your ability to do the work.

Additionally, your attorney can keep track of important timelines and help make sure your claim is filed before it’s too late. Pennsylvania law has multiple conditions for workers’ comp. If you miss one of these deadlines, you might lose your right to benefits, even if you are suffering from a significant injury.

  • Negotiating your settlement. Our experienced workers’ compensation lawyers can help determine how much your claim might be worth and do all we can to fight for you to get a fair settlement. We can use our knowledge of the tricks that insurance might use to fight against a low offer and negotiate on your behalf for maximum benefits.

Additionally, we can help ensure the settlement is structured in a way that it won’t compromise other benefits you might be entitled to. For example, if your workers’ comp settlement is mishandled, it could negatively impact how much money you can get in Social Security disability benefits.

  • Appealing a denied claim. If your initial claim is denied, your lawyer can help you file an appeal, represent your best interest with insurance and the courts if needed, and fight for what you’re owed.

Understanding Workers’ Compensation Benefits

For employees who are injured in work-related accidents, workers’ comp benefits help compensate them for losses like lost wages and medical expenses. The amount of compensation varies depending on the severity of the injuries and how much they impact the victim’s ability to do their job.

If your family member died because of a workplace incident, you might be entitled to death benefits. This compensation is meant to help dependents cover expenses caused by the worker’s death.
