Yes, you will be reimbursed by the workers’ compensation insurance carrier for mileage incurred for traveling to an Independent Medical Examination (“IME”) at the IRS Standard Mileage rate. However, travel costs and mileage for travel to your local treating doctor is not reimbursable by workers’ compensation. Exceptions do exist for non-local travel.
