Will My Travel Costs to an IME Be Reimbursed and Paid by Workers’ Comp?

Yes, you will be reimbursed by the workers’ compensation insurance carrier for mileage incurred for traveling to an Independent Medical Examination (“IME”) at the IRS Standard Mileage rate. However, travel costs and mileage for travel to your local treating doctor is not reimbursable by workers’ compensation.
