Once you have been awarded benefits, you will continue to receive these benefits unless your medical condition has improved and you are capable of substantial gainful employment. When you are granted benefits, a medical review date is established based on your disabling medical condition. Conditions expected to improve will be reviewed in one year to 18 months; more severe conditions will be reviewed in 3 – 7 years.
Social Security may not stop your benefits without notice. If your case has been reviewed and you receive notice that Social Security will be discontinuing your benefits, you should file an appeal immediately and ask that your benefits continue during the appeal process.
If you have applied for Social Security and have been denied, have questions, or need help with an Appeal, contact the Pennsylvania social security attorneys at Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C., at 717-695-4722 for a free consultation.
