If your benefits are initially denied by the Social Security Administration, you may file an appeal within 60 days from the date of the letter denying your benefits. If you do not file an appeal within 60 days, the Decision denying your Social Security benefits becomes final, unless you can prove a good reason or valid excuse. The appeal must be in writing, either on a special appeal form which can be provided by the Social Security Administration, via signed letter, or on the Social Security Administration’s website. For further information, please see our article entitled How To File A Social Security Appeal if Benefits are Denied.
If you have applied for Social Security and have been denied, have questions, or need help with an Appeal, contact the Pennsylvania social security attorneys at Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C., at 717-695-4722 for a free consultation.
